The latest sale of Italian design was a resounding success, highlighting an exceptional selection of 100 hand-picked pieces, illustrating the best of 20th-century Italian design.
One of the highlights was the BBPR ceiling lamp model 2045/, which surprised many by fetching over €100,000, demonstrating the continuing interest in the BBPR group’s creations.
Another highlight was an unpublished table by Ettore Sottsass, made by cabinet-makers Appelle & Varesio, renowned for their collaboration with the famous Carlo Mollino. This unique piece attracted many collectors and design enthusiasts, underlining Sottsass’s ingenuity and vision.
There is also a pair of zoomorphic andirons by Gio Ponti, embodying the elegance and whimsy of this great Italian design master.
