About Iena’s project

In the summer of 1912, Lord Joseph Duveen, certainly the most spectacular art dealer of all times sold several iconic Fragonard paintings to Henry Clay Frick. Subsequently, Duveen asked the prominent architect Charles Allom to remodel Frick’s homestead. Allom pushed out walls, doors and windows to create a unique setting to welcome such masterpieces. A century later, 1 East 70th Street, known as the Frick Collection, remains not only a distinguished landmark of the Manhattan landscape, but also one of the greatest art collections in the world.

Art and architecture always complemented and inspired each other in a unique dialogue and a sophisticated combination that confirm collectors’ taste, refinement and social distinction. Aster design perpetuates this intimate relationship between art collections and outstanding homes. Within harmonious and elegant dwellings, we seek to create exquisite fine art and design furniture collections, carefully sourcing and selecting pieces from prominent international art galleries.

Gathering sought-after contemporary artworks and rare design furniture vibrating with such an historical and cultural setting, constituted
an extraordinary chapter of the 21 Iéna experience and this volume seeks to display a comprehensive presentation of this chapter.

Welcome to the Vingt-et-Un, Iéna, the new haute couture address designed by the talented up-and-coming designer and interior architect Fabrice Juan. This extraordinary space reinvents the classic elements of turn-of-the-century apartments, both celebratingand updating nineteenth-century French art de vivre. Let this palatial duplex, spread over two floors, delight and surprise you by the architectural elements in perfect combination with the collection of art and design gathered by Aster Design.
